Bollard testing

Testing without all the stress

What we do

Attis provide a Lloyd's Register validated service for the survey and testing of bollards, fairleads, mooring rings and other mooring assets. The testing methodology used is non-destructive, non-operationally impactive, and without the need for heavy test equipment or dangerous operations such as using a tug to pull. The test measures the bollard capacity and safe working load (SWL) and identifies any significant defects.

How it benefits you

The testing does not damage the asset, nor does it exert any additional stress on the asset or its fixings. Knowing the berthing capability of mooring assets allows you to make informed operational decisions and reduces the risk of failure. If the results are lower than expected, you have the choice of whether you keep the asset in operation and reduce the loading, or whether you replace it. The testing will highlight issues with the asset fixation (bolts or buried fixings), that can sometimes be remediated through bolt tightening or ground injection/repair.
